Palworld Team Builds — Combat & Base Setups
Two very different kinds of Palworld team. A combat party of five Pals, where the affixes you stack and the active Pal’s Partner Skill decide your damage — and a base team, where many Pals work at once and their Partner Skills and work suitability decide your output. Below are starting builds for each; adapt them to what you own, then plan your own on the Team Builder.
Combat: element support squads
A party carries five Pals but only one is out fighting — your main. Its damage comes from its own affixes (an element boost + Demon God + Legend), because affixes don’t transfer between Pals. The other four Pals help through their “while in party” Partner Skills, which buff your main’s Attack, Defense and element damage. So each squad below is four support Pals — bring your own element-matched main as the fifth and put the damage affixes on it.
Fire — support squad
CombatA support squad for a Fire main. Bring your favourite Fire attacker as the 5th Pal and put the damage on IT: Flame Emperor (+30% Fire damage) + Demon God (+30% Attack) + Legend. These four benched Pals buff that main through their While-in-party skills — more Attack, more Defense, faster cooldowns, healing. Affixes on benched Pals don't transfer, so keep the damage affixes on your main.
Kelpsea IgnisvariantKelpsea Ignis — Lava Spout: +Attack of every Fire Pal in the party (the core damage buff for your main).
RoobyRooby — Tiny Spark: +Defense of Fire Pals, so your main survives longer.
MaraithMaraith — cuts every party Pal's active-skill cooldown, so your main attacks more often.
FlambelleFlambelle — Magma Tears: steadily heals your party Pals mid-fight.
Lightning — support squad
CombatA support squad for a Lightning main. Slot your Electric DPS as the 5th Pal with Lord of Lightning (+30% Lightning damage) + Demon God + Legend on it. The four buffers raise your main's Attack, Defense and Electric damage and shorten its cooldowns from the bench — the damage affixes stay on your main, not these Pals.
SparkitSparkit — Static Electricity: +Attack of Electric Pals in the party.
Dinossom LuxvariantDinossom Lux — +Defense of Electric Pals.
UnivoltUnivolt — Swift Deity: improves your Pals' Electric damage.
MaraithMaraith — party-wide active-skill cooldown reduction.
Ice — support squad
CombatA support squad for an Ice main. Bring your Ice attacker as the 5th Pal and stack Ice Emperor (+30% Ice damage) + Demon God + Legend on it. The four benched Pals buff that main's Ice damage and keep it topped up and cycling skills — the damage affixes belong on your main, not the buffers.
FoxcicleFoxcicle — Aurora Guide: +Attack of Ice Pals in the party.
Moldron CrystvariantMoldron Cryst — Ice Overload: improves your Pals' Ice damage to weak points.
LapureLapure — reduces the Partner Skill cooldowns of your other party Pals.
FlambelleFlambelle — heals your party Pals during the fight.
Dark — support squad
CombatA support squad for a Dark main. Put your Dark DPS in the 5th slot with Lord of the Underworld (+30% Dark damage) + Demon God + Legend on it. These four buffers raise your main's Attack and Defense, cut its cooldowns and heal it from the bench — the damage affixes go on your main, not these support Pals.
Base setups by job
A base team is chosen for the job you want done — breeding, ranch production, crafting, or gathering. The synergy usually lives in each Pal’s Partner Skill (egg yield, incubation speed, work-suitability boosts), with affixes stacked on top. Breeding spans both your party (egg-pickup bonuses) and the base itself (production and incubation).
Breeding Base
BreedingTwo layers: carry Grintale + Broncherry in your PARTY while gathering eggs (extra eggs, Alpha upgrades), and place Braloha + Dynamoff at the Breeding Farm for faster production and incubation. Babysitter and Philanthropist are the two breeding affixes, but they work differently: a Babysitter Pal placed at the base buffs the whole farm, while Philanthropist only helps when it's on a Pal you're actually breeding — so roll Philanthropist on the two breeding Pals in the farm for +100% faster breeding, not on a base helper.
GrintalePARTY, not base: carry it while collecting eggs for a chance at an extra egg.
BroncherryPARTY: chance to upgrade a picked-up Pal Egg to an Alpha Pal Egg.
BralohaBabysitterPlaced at base. Its Partner Skill speeds egg production; the Babysitter affix (a base helper) buffs the whole Breeding Farm on top.
DynamoffPlaced at base. Its Partner Skill shortens incubation.
Ranch Production
RanchPals whose value is what they drop while assigned to a Ranch — Mau for Gold, Woolipop for Cotton Candy, Chikipi for Eggs. Stack the two ranch affixes (Ranch Master / Farmhand) to raise Farming Work Suitability so they produce faster.
Production / Work Base
Work / ProductionA crafting/production base: pick Pals whose Partner Skill raises the base job you need (transport, kindling, cooling), then stack Work-Speed affixes (Artisan → Remarkable Craftsmanship → Demon's Hand). Watch SAN — add Positive Thinker-type affixes if uptime drops.
WumpoRemarkable CraftsmanshipIts Partner Skill lifts a base job's suitability; Remarkable Craftsmanship adds +75% Work Speed.
Katress IgnisvariantArtisanKindling booster; Artisan affix (+50% Work Speed).
Smokie CrystvariantDemon’s HandCooling for the fridge/production chain; Demon's Hand (+90% Work Speed).
Gathering Base
GatheringOre and wood throughput from Pals working AT the base — not the player. Put high-suitability workers on the nodes (Knocklem mines, Hartalis logs) and let Clovee + Tetroise raise everyone's Gathering/Mining suitability. Stack Work-Speed affixes (Artisan → Remarkable Craftsmanship) so each Pal works faster. Skip the Mine/Logging Foreman affixes — those buff YOU, not your base Pals.
KnocklemRemarkable CraftsmanshipAssigned to the base's ore node — high Mining suitability. Remarkable Craftsmanship (+75% Work Speed) makes it mine faster.
HartalisRemarkable CraftsmanshipAssigned to logging — high Lumbering suitability. Work-Speed affix speeds the felling.
CloveeArtisanIts Partner Skill raises every base Pal's Gathering suitability; Artisan (+50% Work Speed) on top.
TetroiseArtisanIts Partner Skill raises base Mining suitability; Artisan affix speeds its own work too.
Build your own
Import your save on My Pals, then open the Team Builder to plan a party and a base of your own — pick any Pal, see its Partner Skill, add the affixes you want, and save the setup. Not sure which Pals breed into the ones you need? The Pal list links every Pal to its breeding page.
